Serves 2-3. Prep 10 min Cook 15 min (adjust based on thickness of salmon).
Ingredients
1 lb salmon
1 lemons, sliced
1/2 onion, sliced
olive oil, brush on salmon
salt, pepper and old bay or blackened seasoning to taste
dill, rosemary, oregano or combo of all
cedar plank, soaked
Method
Start by soaking your cedar plank so it doesn’t catch fire on the grill (read directions for cedar plank you have but usually takes over an hour, the longer you soak it, the less likely it will catch fire). I just soak them in water on a baking sheet and flip every so often. To prepare the salmon for grilling, brush filet with olive oil. Next, season with salt, pepper, additional seasonings of choice and top with dill (and/or other herbs of choice), lemon slices and onion. You can also opt for only using a rub instead of the technique above- whatever your preference, have fun with it. Place salmon skin side down on soaked cedar plank and bbq on medium (temp of 375 deg ) until opaque and flaky, usually approx. 15 min, depending on thickness of salmon filet. It smells really nice and tastes even better. Plate with a side, such as Summer Corn Salad and serve!
