This recipe is from my boyfriend, Jordan’s mom. She is an excellent cook and I am excited to have this recipe to try. This is the first time I have ever made or had this and it is as, Jordan puts it, ‘not a health food,” but truly a taste sensation. It reminds me of a savory croissant, only substantial enough to make a hearty meal.
- 1 loaf frozen or refrig bread or pizza dough
- 1 lb bulk pork sausage (can add ground beef)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 T chopped parsley
- 1 egg (2 if adding ground beef)
- 1/4 cup parmesan
- 2 T melted butter
Brown sausage and onion. Add remaining ingred. Roll out dough on floured surface. Put sausage mix down center of dough. Pull dough over sausage. Roll ends under.
Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Brush on melted butter and cook additional 5 minutes. Keep basting with melted butter every 5 minutes for a total baking time of 35-40 minutes.
