You need a clean workspace if your ever going to prepare a meal and/or bake. I mean, obviously, right? There are plenty of kitchen cleansers out there but they can be tough on your skin, shouldn’t be inhaled and are generally all around noxious. The ones out there that have more natural ingredients can get pricey. Natural cleaning kits are actually pretty easy to put together. The benefits include avoiding that strong disinfectant smell and instead enjoying a nice, pleasant aroma during and after cleaning. Also they aren’t as damaging to your skin, your loved ones, your pets and just less toxic overall.

General Kitchen Cleanser/Room Mist

Ingredients

Optional: can add to the above mixture 10 drops Grapefruit, 7 drops Palmarosa, 6 drops Thyme, and 4 drops Peppermint if you want to get fancy with your kitchen cleanser/air spray. Adjust oils based on your preference- all of these oils have antiseptic properties in addition to others (click links above to learn more about each essential oil’s cleansing properties) to disinfect and clean your kitchen.

Method

Mix essential oils together and add to glass bottle to store for future dilutions, preferably a glass bottle with a dropper. Fill a spray bottle up with 4 cups of water and add 6-8 drops of essential oil mixture. Use to wipe down surfaces and spray the air when it needs a little freshening.

Refrigerator Refresh
